About the GATE ME paper

Mechanical Engineering (ME) has one of the largest candidate pools in GATE and one of the broadest syllabi. Marks are spread more evenly than in other papers, which means selective preparation is riskier here than almost anywhere else in GATE.

How to prepare

The Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering cluster is the largest single scoring opportunity and is often under-prepared relative to the glamour subjects. Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer form the second pillar.

Because the paper is numerical, accuracy under time pressure decides ranks. Previous year papers solved strictly to time are the best available simulation of exam conditions.
